Rugby Blitz Oct. ‘10

On Monday, 18 October, we entered two teams in Dundalk Rugby Club’s first school’s blitz of the year. The pupils of Mr McClean’s 5th class participated in a boy’s contact rugby competition and a mixed tag rugby competition.
Although many of the pupils had not played rugby prior to this year, a school’s training programme, set up by Dundalk Rugby Club, has seen the basic rugby skills imparted to our 5th class pupils over the first half of this term.
As a result of this training, a great day was had by all participants, with success enjoyed by both teams on the day. Who knows? We may very well have unearthed Knockbridge’s own version of Rob Kearney on the fields of Mill Road on the 18 October 2010!!
